City Switches to New Phone System

Pleasanton City Hall will receive a new phone system soon with the switchover scheduled for September 26. The new numbers for the different departments are already listed in the telephone directory.

Until the new system is in operation, however, there may be some slight delays and difficulties in trying to reach the person desired. Once the complete changeover is accomplished though, the public should find the service faster and much more convenient.

According to Larry Miller, Assistant to the Pleasanton City Manager, there will be 130 telephones involved in the new system. The present telephone service is through use of an antiquated switchboard at the police station on Main Street.
