  • U.S. Bank

    Safeway and U.S. Bancorp have reached an agreement to open branches of U.S. Bank inside 163 grocery stores, including 43 in the Bay Area. The new facilities will offer the same services as the 2,200 existing U.S. Bank branches, including checking and savings accounts as well as home mortgages and small business loans.

  • CPU Tech

    CPU Tech has won the contract to develop prototype units of a new Central Air Data Computer for U.S. F-16 Fighter Aircraft, using the company's System-on-a-Chip technology. CPU Tech will produce the internal electronics of the new computer system, which will be housed in its original chassis in the plane. The new system is expected to reduce maintenance costs and increase the viability of the air data computer.

  • PeopleSoft

    The University of Pittsburgh has chosen PeopleSoft's applications for Higher Education, including Student Administration, PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal and Customer Relationship Management (CRM). The PeopleSoft products will provide more than 32,000 students, staff and faculty on five campuses with real-time access to administrative and academic information.

    "After an extensive evaluation of enterprise software vendors through a comprehensive process, PeopleSoft emerged as our clear choice," says Robert F. Pack, vice provost of the University of Pittsburgh. "The PeopleSoft solution provides us with the capability to enhance our level of service to students by fully integrating all aspects of the student's life from recruitment through graduation. PeopleSoft's flexibility and scalability provide a seamless environment through ease of integration into our existing systems and applications."

  • Pixion

    ON24, a leading multimedia and webcast provider for business, has joined Pixion's Business Partner Program to help expand reach of PictureTalk to online meeting customers. ON24 will include PictureTalk, the flagship product of Hacienda-based Pixion, as part of its Webcast Center solution, which will allow webcast participants to use PictureTalk's web conferencing capabilities during a webcast.

  • Sprint PCS

    Sprint PCS has introduced a new, innovative feature for its wireless phone customers: customized rings which feature singers calling customers by name. The downloadable rings, created in concert with the Sony Music Mobile Products Group, will feature male and female singers crooning tunes with popular names such as Amy or James.

    "Sprint customers want their mobile phones to be a reflection of themselves," says Chip Novick, vice president of consumer marketing for Sprint PCS. "PCS Vision gives everyone an opportunity to be as unique and distinctive as possible."
