Hacienda Transportation Fair to Feature Information, Prizes

The Fourth Annual Transportation Fair, hosted by AT&T and the Hacienda Owners Association, will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Carr Conference Center, 4400 Rosewood Drive, on Thursday, October 1.

"We have two goals to accomplish," says James Paxson, general manager of the Association. "The primary purpose of the event is to inform people about their commute options. Second, we want to help promote Rideshare Week, which will be celebrated from October 5-9."

The first 500 people attending the fair will receive free gift bags. Free commuter mugs will be available for everyone who requests a car or van pool match list from RIDES for Bay Area Commuters.

Those visiting five booths at the fair can enter into the special transportation fair drawing. Prizes include over 100 BART tickets, a two-night stay at the Summerfield Suites Hotel, dinner for two at Paragon, sportswear, free hair styling, golf accessories, hats, t-shirts, and more.

Exhibiting at the fair will be a variety of transit-related companies, including: BART, WHEELS, ACE, Commendable Commutes, County Connection, SMART, RIDES, MAX, VPSI, East Bay Bicycle Coalitition, Heart Association, East Bay Regional Parks District, Commuter Check, Guaranteed Ride Home, Bay Area Clean Air Partnership, TravInfo, and Pacific Bell Mobile Services.

WHEELS will be operating a free shuttle the day of the event to and from the fair site. Specially marked stops will be located throughout the park.
