  • Robert Half International Inc. reported record revenues and earnings for the fourth quarter ending December 31, 1996. Net income for the quarter was $17,693,000 on revenues of $258,797,000, which compared to income of $11,480,000 on revenues of $175,914,000 for the same quarter of 1995. The company ended 1996 with net income of $61,102,000 on revenues of $898,635,000, up from totals of $40,298,000 and $628,526,000 respectively for the previous year.
  • Fresh from holiday success with its "Mrs. Fields Baking Factory," Yes! Entertainment has formed another licensing agreement that could be a sweet deal. The toy manufacturer is pairing with Baskin-Robbins USA Co. to create the Baskin-Robbins Ice Cream Maker, a product which will allow children to make their own ice cream.
  • Nellcor Puritan Bennett has received marketing clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for two new patient safety monitoring products, the NPB-40 handheld pulse oximeter and the NPB-4000 multiparameter monitor. The NPB-40 is a portable, hand-held unit used to monitor oxygen saturation. The NPB-4000 measures the status of several biological systems and is intended for use in emerging markets and alternate care sites.
  • The San Francisco Business Times has recognized the EBTEL Federal Credit Union as the ninth largest credit union in the East Bay, based on total assets as of June, 1996. EBTEL, which focuses on employees of the telecommunications industry, has over 20,000 members.
  • PeopleSoft, Inc. announced that Ford Motor Company has licensed their financial software for use in its global accounting operations. "We are very pleased that a global manufacturing leader such as Ford Motor Company has decided to implement PeopleSoft Financials," said Al Duffield, senior vice president of worldwide operations for PeopleSoft. Ford will also work with PeopleSoft to ensure that PeopleSoft Financials will keep up with the needs of the company, which operates in over 35 countries.
